Hi! My name is Georgie Gilchrist and I graduated from the University Of Central Lancashire with a 2nd class degree in Sports Therapy in 2019.
Prior to graduation I have undertaken another qualification in medical acupuncture.
While I was at university I have worked alongside numerous healthcare professionals such as physiotherapist, occupational therapists, consultants and speech and language therapist. I have working in professional and semi professional sports such as St Helen’s Rugby League, and Chorley football club as well as amateur football.
I have a wide range of experience of working with many different patients who have MSK, orthopaedic and neurological needs.
I am currently working as an assistant practitioner at Aintree University Hospital under trauma orthopaedics, my role consist of seeing and treating patients day one post operative, this can consist of bed based assessments, safe transfer methods, identifying mobility needs if a patient will need a mobility aid to walk with, fitting and adjusting and braces.
